Joni Finnegan

Plein Air Artist

The Artwork of Joni (Joan) Finnegan

For 18 years, Joni Finnegan owned and operated a retail frame shop and Gallery in Southern Minnesota. She has been teaching painting classes privately for more than 20 years to both adults and children and has authored three instructional books for the craft art field (published by Viking Woodcrafts).  She has also juried competitions in a variety of media for community art exhibits and has been active with business and community volunteer work throughout her working career. In early 2000, she retired and moved with her husband to the country in Southeast Minnesota to pursue a life-long dream of developing her own artwork. Although it took a few years to begin that dream, it was well worth the effort.

The quiet peace of long hours alone spent creating her artwork are balanced with travel opportunities to incredible places and meeting fascinating new people through the galleries and collectors as well as spending ample time with her children and grandchildren and pursuing all of the other joys that country living offers.

Joni and her husband Wayne currently reside near Lanesboro Minnesota.  Here on her website, you will find on online gallery featuring her art including plein air landscapes, still life paintings ad much more.  Also, Joni will be updating her blog with new works of art,  news from her studio, and current class and exhibition dates.  You may reach Joni by email or by phone: 507-765-5371.
